Make Google Your Sales Force?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

In the online world, Google is King!

Well, at least that is the consensus and with more than 90,000,000 searches / day, it is by fare the most utilized search engine on the planet.

The question is, how do you tap into all that power?

The simple and straight forward answer is:  use it as a marketing and promotional tool.

So how do you do that?

The two most popular areas you can use Google is:

1.  PPC or Pay-Per-Click ads that allow you to generate immediate traffic from a keyword search. Google Adwords is Google’s PPC search tool that allows anyone to direct targeted traffic to their web sites by paying a PPC fee to Google.

2.  Organic search, more commonly known as Search Engine Optimization. This is more difficult and a more long term strategy.  SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which basically is how you raise your website’s ranking in Google’s keyword search results pages.  These strategies are broken into:

  1. on site optimization
  2. off site optimization

3.  Other less popular Google uses are:  Google Local Search, Google Analytics, Google webmaster tools, Adsense revenue, Google Checkout, and Google aps.

The most important aspect of using Google in either PPC or SEO is your keyword search.

Instead of guessing your keyword phrases, why not find out exactly how many people search for any keyword phrase that you can think of as well as many that you can’t?

You must choose keyword phases that get a lot of searches and have low competition, at least in the beginning.

A great tool is the Google Adwords database to do your keyword research.  It’s free and it will tell you how many searches your keyword phrases will get.

The problem is Adwords does not tell you how much competition you have. For that you will need Market Samurai.

Market Samurai is perhaps the most important invention in keyword research in the past 10 years.

Why is that? Because, it uses Google Adwords data base and adds a ton of extra research results that will help you zero in on exactly what keyword phrases you could be using.

It accomplishes this with a very user friendly interface:

  • Launches projects easily.
  • Interfaces with Google Adwords database
  • It allows you to chose parameters that will keep your competition low (and costs)
  • Once you know competition is doing you can easily tell how easy or difficult it will be for you to rank.

Using Google to get results is not a walk in the park.  Far from it.  But, with a little bit of knowledge that can change rapidly.  Market Samurai is a well honed tool that can raise your game.

Imagine being on the front page of Google for a targeted keyword phase that gets 10,000 searches per day! The amount of credibility and traffic that would bring to your business or company is huge.

Is Personal Branding really Attraction Marketing?

What does Attraction Marketing have to do with Personal Branding?

There is a lot of discussion in the online and internet marketing world about Attraction Marketing and more lately about Personal Branding.  If you are like me, you may have been a little confused by all the discussion and training offered on Personal Branding and Attraction Marketing.  Let me share with you what I found that cleared this confusion for me:

First, a definition:  the word brand has evolved to encompass identity – it affects the personality of a product, company or service

Personal Branding is about:

  • The way you market yourself to the world
  • Is the essence of the way the world sees you as you go about blogging, using Social Media, web sites, email, etc.
  • Is happening whether you’re conscious of it or not; it is unavoidable.
  • It is key in building a relationship that leads to trust.

The following quote on relationship building emphasizes its importance:

“A relationship is based on a simple building block, and it doesn’t matter what kind of relationship it is.  Trust is that building block, and without it, you have nothing.” ~ Tom Peters.

It’s all about perception.  And perception is created and reinforced by branding.

But how do you brand?

One way Personal Branding is done is through Attraction Marketing. This is true especially for the home business and online marketer.  Attraction Marketing is about:

  • Providing valuable information that helps the receiver solve a problem
  • Positioning yourself as a leader in a niche
  • Positioning yourself as a solutions provider
  • Differentiating you and what you do from others.
  • Not wasting your or your potential customer’s time.
  • Establishing trust
  • Increasing your sales ratio

Golden Rule of Attraction Marketing:  Attraction Marketing is about making a customer for life… not just making a sale.

Personal Branding is more conceptual and Attraction Marketing is the action. The branding concept is about painting and enhancing your image in the eyes of your current and potential customers.  Attraction Marketing is the steps you take to attract people to you.  At the same time it creates an image about you and it lets people know what you are about.

Both are about building the trust that leads to a genuine relationship. That genuine relationship can lead to a positive and profitable experience for both you and your customer.  The critical element is trust.

Now with your Personal Brand image in mind, your daily activity, whether it is on your blog, in Social Media, or your web site, can be aligned with a central and cohesive theme that represents you and provides value.    That is Attraction Marketing creating your “Brand”!

How Successful Can You Be In Network Marketing?

How successful could you be in network marketing if you were trained by someone who had already done what you want to do?

Great question, huh?

Here is one of the most frequent questions I get: Do you really train me to make money with a home based business?

The answer is: Absolutely!

I would be crazy not to.

Robert Kiyosaki in his book, The Business School, said: “The number one reason I recommend a network marketing business is for its system of education.”

In the corporate world I had a reputation as a sales leader who was there working with people, teaching and training. I have found that strategy works even better in the network marketing business model because that model is built on the premise that you must help someone be successful in order to for you to be successful.

What a concept?  Watch out when the rest of the world figures this out!

According to Richard Bliss Brooke in “Mailbox Money” the benefits of a network marketing business include:

1.    You can build it part time, any time.

2.    You can build it from anywhere; any city, any virtual office.

3.    You can launch it for less than $1,000.

4.    You are “in business” for yourself, but not by yourself.

5.    You can create enough tax deductions alone each year to make
it worthwhile.

6.    You can learn it while you earn it. You can create profit your very first month.

7.    You can earn an extra $500, $1,000, $5,000 or more a month — every month — to invest in the traditional options of real estate and equities.

8.    And the most valuable and lucrative benefit is that of Residual Royalty Income and its asset value. Built in the right company – one that has proven it pays over the long haul – that income can, and should, be there forever.

Notice my highlights? There it is again, the reference to training!

But don’t believe what I am saying.

Check out the training on the business platform that I use. You will see training by the primary company and training by the business group within the company that I work with.  There is basic training, communications, and marketing training.  It also offers access to state of the art industry leaders training!

7 Reasons for Building a List

From my research and my own personal experience of marketing and sales, the first place to start is in building a list.

Whether you have decided on an online business model or a more traditional business model, you must attract targeted, living, breathing, and buying people who are looking for what you offer.  You can do that with targeted online ads or more traditional advertising like businesses do with TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, or direct mail.

Statistics show that people rarely buy on the first exposure.  More likely it is on the 5th to 7th exposure to your product or service that they take action. But if you don’t sell the potential customer the first time they come by, where does that leave you?  You’ve just spent time, effort, and money with few sales.  So you must do it over and over.

But first, what is a list? A list is simply a listing of people and their contact information who have shown an interest in what you offer.  That means collecting “opt ins” via a capture page and accumulated in an Auto responder.  A capture page is simply a page where they can enter their contact information and then is forwarded to the auto responder where it is stored.  See my article on capture pages and auto responders.

People who “opt in” provide their contact information in return for something you offer of value.  That could be free valuable content, information or some other free item that you offer that educates and is of value to them.  The best, easiest, and most economical way of doing that is on the internet, but you can do it in the traditional marketing ways as well.

7 reasons for building a list

  1. You own the list.  You attract people to your list with a targeted message and focused content and value that they are interested in.
  2. If you don’t collect contact information the first time a potential customer visits your web site and they leave without buying, you only have one chance to profit.
  3. If you collect email addresses, you have many chances to profit.
  4. We all know customers are groomed through relationship building so being able to communicate with a prospect consistently through email is critical.
  5. Leverage.  Your list allows you to share your message with a large group of interested and targeted people all at once.
  6. Once you have a list, it very easy to generate multiple streams of income by simply sending out emails promoting products and services that would be of interest to them.
  7. Since you own your list, applying Launch Formula principles enhance the value of your list.  See my other article on Launch Formula strategies.

In summary, the 4 Power Functions of your list are:

  1. Build Relationships through consistent emails containing valuable content that your list is interested in.
  2. Follow up with your sales process through automatically generated promotions on what you sell.
  3. Generate multiple streams of income through promotion on the back end of affiliate products, contests, etc.
  4. Conduct your own launches to generate additional interest and activity to cause people to take action.

Building your own list is an essential function of building a business.  Once you have a list, understand what they are looking for, and communicate consistently providing value, the list will reward you handsomely.  My next article in this series will be on how to build your list.

Elements of Your Own Customized Marketing System for Network Marketing

A Customized Marketing System consists of blogs, websites, email marketing tools and campaigns, and video content all oriented to attracting and ultimately leading your “ideal” mlm prospect to you. This system brings in new prospects on a regular basis, allows you to educate them about yourself and your business, explain how your product will make their life better or prevent problems, and then eventually persuade them to become your customer.

A Customized Marketing System brands you in a unique and personalized way to differentiate your business. This system attracts large numbers of prospects who enter the top of your “funnel” and the serious and qualified make their way through the system, exiting at the bottom as a customer and / or a customer and business partner.  Along the way some drop out, others hang out absorbing your information until their timing is right.

The most important difference between this system and the turn key, replicated systems resident on your network marketing companies web site is the CONVERSION rate!

Strategically, a Customized Marketing System puts you in a place where you:

  1. have less competition.
  2. You differentiate yourself,
  3. Create a You, Inc. brand identity.
  4. Create a Targeted, Laser Focused message to maximize responses
  5. Get an instant boost in your credibility ranking.

The Elements of Your Customized Marketing System

  1. Your Own Domain name. This will be your core foundation of your internet marketing system.
  2. Self-hosted Blog – This is the center of your marketing efforts and is focused on lead generation.  This is where you place your content and integrate efforts of both your Social Media and Ad based marketing.  You will want to coordinate your content that you place on Ezine Articles, Squidoo, Hub Pages, and other similar content areas with your blog content.  Use of Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter will enhance and promote access and visibility of that content.  The net result is your visibility and traffic is increased.  SEO across all of these areas will optimize their impact.
  3. Lead Capture Pages – customized, personal entry point of your marketing system driven by your Ad campaigns.  Ad campaigns need to be developed to focus on your Niche market.  As people are drawn to your blog and content your lists will grow, providing a rich audience to develop a relationship with and market to.
  4. Email Marketing and Autoresponder – where automated and repeat exposure sales messages are generated to your growing list.  This can be both automated, event driven, and regular Newsletter communications.  This is where relationships are cultivated and grown.
  5. YouTube Video Channel– people to people personalized education medium.

Action List for Setting up your Customized Marketing System Now

  1. Do your Market Research and get Domain Name – see Finding Your Niche article
  2. Build your WordPress blog
  3. Set up your email marketing center including your autoresponder
  4. Create you Lead Capture pages

Incorporate video at any point in the above process that you are comfortable with.

The Benefits of Having your own system are capacity to maximize results.

The Customized Marketing System will provide

  • Search Engine Optimization because self-hosted blogs and web pages are search engine preferred over “replicated websites” providing higher levels of traffic without your direct involvement
  • Personalization, which is important because: People join People, not a company, People buy from trusted sources more readily than from a faceless site.  This is where the You, Inc. brand becomes important and delivers results
  • Controlling Content.  Complete control over content means you can adjust when or if it isn’t working or things change; complete control over messages you send via auto responder.
  • Building a subscriber list that allows you to: 1) Make more money from the same list, 2) Sell them more, related products, 3) Announce promotions, special offers. 3) Create trust and build relationship.
  • Ultimately, YOUR LIST = FREEDOM, the more people who enter the top of your Customized Marketing System, the more sales you make.  Money = Time Freedom!

A Customized Marketing System puts you in charge of your marketing, your brand, and is something you own.  It saves you time and works for you.  Their is training for each of the elements available at RengadePro.  RenegadPro has the best click by click training for building a WordPress blog that I have seen.

I appreciate your comments and suggestions.  I am available for consultation, questions, and support.  You can contact me through this link.

Finding Your Niche for your Network Marketing business

The #1 most over-looked (and therefore the most powerful) marketing strategy in the network marketing industry is differentiation.  A few ways to differentiate yourself are:

  • Specialize in a niche
  • Put a different spin on your content
  • Package your content in a different format than others
  • Target a different audience.

When you demonstrate that you understand your audience’s problems or needs you put yourself in a powerful place.  You become their advocate.  This allows you to establish and build relationships quickly and position yourself as a leader.

The most glaring differentiation strategy missing in the Network Marketer’s marketing strategy (if they have one) is the focus on a niche. The biggest mistake is to think “everyone” is your prospect – even if you selling skin care products.  After all everyone has skin, right?

So if 60 to 85% of all Network Marketers are operating from a place that says everyone is their  prospect, is it any wonder that their behavior results in pushy and aggressive sales techniques?  It doesn’t have to be that way, and frankly it is not rocket science to find and focus on a profitable niche.

First, What is a Niche?

A niche is a clearly definable group of like minded people with a common and mutual interest. It is a subcategory of a larger market that has specific issues, problems, wants, and needs.  By researching and focusing on those issues you will be able to create and get your message to the correct audience in the correct format and medium.  The more clearly you define a group the better.  This creates a message to market match.  You actually become an advocate for them and as result begin to attract them to you.

Good sales and Marketing always begins by putting the other person first!

3 Critical Questions you need to answer.  You must become intimate with issues, problems, wants, desires, and needs of your ideal client.  That is best determined by focusing on a niche or unique market segment that you thoroughly understand and have a passion about.

  1. Who is a market? How do you define them?  Who is your best or ideal customer?
  1. What does your niche want? Specifically, what are they looking for?  What problem are they trying to solve?  Where do you have passion that matches what your niche wants?  How can you position yourself as a solutions provider?
  2. How do they want it? Often the delivery and the customer experience is more important then the product itself.  Learn how they get information and in what format.  Then put that strategy into action.

How to Determine your Hot Market

  • Find 10 Markets that you’re interested in.  Start a list and document.
  • Learn to explore and look for desires people are expressing
  • Study the market place so you can see where there are needs for products that have not been developed or not delivered efficiently or effectively.
  • Use Google and Amazon to validate interest and dollars being spent
  • Watch the ways people communicate on the internet as a way to discover what people are looking for and wanting.  Find  forums and groups in your market.
  • Look for trends or popular movements and look for needs to be fulfilled out of that.
  • Document competitor gaps.  How saturated is your market?
  • Find a market that is underserved, but not unserved.

This research will focus you in a direction where people are hungry for what you are marketing

Some important points

  • Always be looking for where you can have a business advantage.
  • Tap into an audience/niche were the majority of the pre-selling has been done for you.
  • Stop thinking of yourself as a marketer and begin thinking of yourself as a Solutions Provider.  Become your prospects advocate and trusted advisor.
  • Prospects and customers flock to those who demonstrate that they’re knowledgeable.  The key to attraction marketing is……… Teaching Sells!  That will allow you to effortlessly sell massive quantities of any product or service in any industry!

By specializing on a specific marketing niches or segments, you can bring ideal prospects to you.  Differentiating yourself from other people in the market place sets you apart from everyone else and generates attention.  As you demonstrate that you understand your niche or group’s specific wants and needs you establish greater credibility. You actually become an advocate for them. This builds on relationship and will lead to trust by actually demonstrating your ability to solve a problem that is important to them.  Now they will want to know more about you and what you have to offer.  You have become an expert in your niche which makes it easy to convert prospects to customers and price competition diminishes, making for a more profitable relationship.

PPC is Effective for Lead Generation in Network Marketing

The bottom line is to succeed in Network Marketing you need to have new leads coming into your your system on a regular basis.   My lead generation article page shows the many ways to generate leads into your Network Marketing using the internet.

PPC (Pay-Per-Click Marketing, also called search marketing or SEM) is one of the most effective and powerful ways to attract leads into your business.  However, unless you really know what you are doing, it could end up being very costly!

Why PPC is Effective for Building a Network Marketing Business

  1. You can control your lead costs. PPC marketing allows you to set how much your are willing to pay for per lead and also allows you to cap your daily and monthly costs.  It is absolutely controllable.  You may have heard that Social Marketing doesn’t cost you anything, but I disagree.  To be successful you have to spend hour after hour writing content and posting to different sites day after day.  The question is how much is your time worth? Once a Google AdWords campaign is working properly, it can run in the background.  That then allows  you time to focus on following up with your prospects, while the same is not true for Social Marketing.
  2. You can Control The Quality Of Your Leads. Keywords are not all equal with varying costs and depending on how you structure your campaigns in Google AdWords, you will attract different quality of leads or responders.  By learning how to optimize for the Right kind of prospects, you can eliminate the tire kickers and loo-key loos looking for a free ride.  That is definitely not true of Social Media where you can spend inordinate amounts of time sorting and qualifying.  PPC allows you sort and qualify leading to quality over quantity.
  3. You can Control The Quantity of Leads flowing in Daily -  once you have a winning campaign you may find that you are receiving more leads then you can manage.  PPC traffic flow can be set to flow at a level that works for you.  Mike Dillard’s used a video case study that showed his conversion rate was 5% of the leads he generated converted into members in his network marketing business.  So if you are generating 100 leads per day, as he was, that would represent a healthy growth rate for anyone’s business.  And when you consider that some of those that didn’t convert to members would buy his training materials and represent a profit anyway.
  4. You Control the Message They Read – PPC is laser focused. You control exactly whet your prospects read, both the ad they read and the messages you send to them once they are on your list.  You know exactly where they are in your Sales Process.  With Social Media you do not have control of message or where they are in your process.  In Social Media, you need a lot of content and don’t know what they have consumed.
  5. You can Outsource Your PPC Campaign -  Effective use of your time may mean outsourcing your PPC Campaign like many top marketers do.  This allows them to focus on higher leveraged activities like training their teams, working with highly qualified prospects, creating content, and developing profitable opportunities.  On the other hand, Social Marketing relies on continual personal interaction and personality is one thing you can’t outsource or duplicate.  Someone else can take care of your marketing campaigns while you do other things.

PPC marketing provides a large amount of control in your business. If you are committed to building a network marketing business online, PPC marketing is a necessary component.  Spend the money and the time to learn PPC Marketing.  You can start out slow or you can move quickly, especially if you outsource.  There are several places you can learn PPC Marketing.  One of the best and most cost effective is Renegrade Professional training site.  This site can help you integrate PPC Marketing and Social Media and other marketing aspects.  The other course is Mike Dillard’s very focused PPC Domination course.
